Friendly Intelligence – December 15, 2007
by Micah
As promised, my weekly recap of the posts I liked the best from my friends blogs:
The Name Game – Paul has had experiences that so many entrepreneurs wish they could have, both positive and negative. Having gone through a naming exercise a couple of times, it’s always interesting to see what a real company went through. (By the way, I almost included Paul’ s post on the launch of his latest venture simply so I could say “wind the frog!”)
Simple Permalink Trick – Andrew posts a simple trick to improve your blog’s SEO. I jokingly now refer to him as Mr. SEO. One of the reasons that I sold Current Wisdom was that if everyone was an expert in the service you provided, the value of the service becomes only interesting to those that dont have time. Andrew shows why one should take the time.
Great Minds vs. Good Minds vs. Small Minds – Tom so often makes me laugh when I read his posts. It always nice to remember that there is a brain behind that smile. What I often wonder is if people can have all three types of “minds,” at different times.
Christy Has a Blog – My friend Danny has introduced me to many good things, but only one great thing: his girlfriend Miss Christy Lee. She is blogging over at Mania.TV and if it was BROKEN, I would post to a specific post about the last words on Lost in Translation. Instead, enjoy Christy’s blog in its entirety.
Sales is a Science, not an Art – I pick my mentors carefully, mostly because I know how big a PITA I am…I certainly need to say thank you to Seth more often.
Birthday Resolutions – The way people process and set goals is always interesting to me. Kath lays out a few of her 365 goals. (The first one was crossed off the list in record time.)
If You Only Had a Minute, What Would You Write? – Its wonderful watching Tom develop his voice through his blog. If this post wasnt as good as it is; I would have had a harder time to listing him twice.
Worthless Crap vs. Marriage – The best thing about working with a new group of people is that they are new. Among the Lijit team one person stands out for his passion and humor. Here is a great example of that. (I would have listed other blog posts from other Lijit team members, but I will have to wait until I understand one of them. Stupid smart people…)
