Friendly Intelligence – December 29, 2007
This has been a light week for posts from my friends. Could you the holidays, could be they are less interesting. Given Scrooge is a hero of mine’ I’m going with the holidays.
Regardless, I have added a couple of friends blogs to my ever growing list, which always makes me happy. And, as always, please send me your blog URL to micah [at] currentwisdom [dot] com so I can follow you as well. On that topic, I have started a tumblog at www.micahbaldwin.com so you can follow me there, and I will follow you back. (Twitter works too, but its has nowhere near the shelf life.)
On to the blog posts:
Toddler Conversations – Jim Turner and I have been trying to connect for a couple of weeks now, but know enough of the same people, and follow each other enough on Twitter that I consider him a “real live” friend. This post solidified that in my head. Having two sisters 7 and 9 years younger than me, teaching swim lessons for 8 years and coaching 15 years of lacrosse, I can attest to having many of these type of conversations with Toddlers of all ages.
Face It, Northern VA – there’s nothing northern about you – I met Bill at StartupWeekend DC and even though he is good friends and co-workers with Will Kern. I just found Bill’s blog since he installed the Lijit search widget, but his latest post made me smile. I am reminded of my 5 years in DC, and thinking the same thought every day. Frankly, I included all of DC and Maryland, but who is counting?
I’m totally famous. – Dave worked for me at Indigio as the Senior SEO Manager. I hired this green, pup of a man based on his amazing skill set and his ingenuity (yes, he helped put himself through college by selling yellow water). After about a week, I off-handingly said, “Dave, start a blog.” Now that fucker is getting awards and recognition. I really need to see the kid fail because of my condition (I think its called “inflated ego,”), so dont vote for him. Please.
I’ve had it with Microsoft – The best part of Ben’s diatribe on why he hates Microsoft is his desire to dump his XBOX 360 for a PS3. (I’m also guessing that the recent purchase of his employer by Google hasnt colored his view of Microsoft at all.)
A Rant on VCs, Financial Models, and Experience – Brad is the most experienced VC I know. So, when he republishes an email about how to be a better angel investor (given thats a big interest of mine), I stop and read it.
