Its My Birthday. Do Something That Will Make You Happy.

Its my birthday today. September 25.

I am so excited for my birthday.

Look, I am jumping for joy.

And, in advance, I thank you for your well wishes.

Could you do something for me? Help me out a bit? It is my birthday after all.

Please go to SocialVibe and sign up. Its free. There are many causes to select from, and the beauty of the site is how it makes the concept of giving interesting for younger people. Really, just go sign up.

Education is another very important cause for me. DonorsChoose is my favorite education fundraising site. I have helped several teachers, including some at my middle school in San Jose (Morrill Middle School!!!) over the past couple of years. Find a cause. Drop a couple of bucks. Doesnt have to be much. But its so worth it.

While you might have 100 excuses as to why you dont get involved with the above sites, the only valid one that I am willing to accept is that you contribute to causes you believe in that dont include the above two.

After all, giving, strangely enough, is a highly American activity, and one we should all participate in.

    Micah - It has been a while since I have made it out to your blog, but caught the SocialVibe wave via Twitter last week. I love the concept and look forward to seeing where they go with the service. It is inspiring to see the social networking connections promote and fuel giving back.

Hope you get a publisher for your book. Hope your dog decides he really doesn't want to get the squirrel after all. Hope your levels of health and happiness increase over this next year.
