But there is a marked increase of new, younger users who like the less expensive, high-purity heroin that can be sniffed or smoked rather than injected. Heroin addiction has also been noted in more affluent communities in recent studies.

Sean, shot you a twitter DM. Definitely would like to connect this weekend. Ive tried all kinds of ways to control this beast, most of them not the smartest. so far, I am very happy with my production the last two days, just everything feels so slooooooow. Like walking down a hallway takes FOREVER.

Michah,
for nearly all of 2001 i was on a cocktail of anti-psychotic medications. Obviously a different situation but the net result was similar in that i felt like all the sharp edges that made me who i was were dulled. I don't know about your condition or the drug adderall but i would say this: if the ADD is truly problematic to the point of inhibiting you from functioning how you want to, experiment and see if the meds get you closer. I found this site to be very helpful when i was taking meds-> http://askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=11522&name=ADDERALL
it's tough when you're on them because you can't "see the water in your own fishtank."
that site is an aggregation of feedback from people who have done the meds and gives a very no-BS perspective and is a good non-biased datapoint to help you decide.

I was ultimately able to ween myself off the meds and return to a middleground of "normalcy" where the mania was gone but the sharpness returned. i believe with all these things, putting people in a bucket by assigning them a diagnosis of ADD or bipolar or whatever tomorrow's term is missing the boat. It's an interaction of personality traits and temporary conditions brought on my stress and environmental factors. Meds can be good to address the acute problem but i don't believe they provide a sustainable or healthy means for correcting personality characteristics. i hope you find a good middleground of your own.

on an unrelated note, i'm actually in Boulder right now. I stayed w/ Andrew Hyde on Wed night and he mentioned you'd be up for meeting. If you're up for grabbing a drink or coffee, I'll be here until Sun. hit me up. oh and this is a post i did awhile back after being frustrated seeing the economics of the pharma industry and how meds are being overprescribed-> http://www.scrollinondubs.com/2006/07/08/drug-companies-should-be-required-to-eat-their-own-dogfood/

Meds can be good to address the acute problem but i don’t believe they provide a sustainable or healthy means for correcting personality characteristics. i hope you find a good middleground of your own.

on an unrelated note, i’m actually in Boulder right now. I stayed w/ Andrew Hyde on Wed night and he mentioned you’d be up for meeting. If you’re up for grabbing a drink or coffee, I’ll be here until Sun. hit me up. oh and this is a post i did awhile back after being frustrated seeing the economics of the pharma industry and how meds are being overprescribed- http://www.scrollinondubs.com/2006/07/08/drug-companies-should-be-required-to-eat-their-own-dogfood/
