Here is a great article about how Jason Calacanis started fatblogging. I know for myself it has been an interesting experience. Most of the folks in the article write heavily trafficed blogs, where many people are reading about their successes or failures. My blog, on the other hand, is read by me, and probably no one else. So how does the concept motivate me? Well, there is certainly the fact that if someone does read it, they will see my successes and failures, but more importantly, I see my successes and failures in writing and they are saved for as long as I pay my hosting bill. Personal accountability is so much more powerful than third party accountability, when one understands that you have to live with yourself every day, all day. I know it took me 35 years to realize that little tidbit.
